静岡県は太平洋沿岸のほぼ中央に位置し、山梨県との県境には日本で最も高い標高３７７６m霊峰富士がそびえる。また、牧之原市、菊川市、掛川市周囲にはお茶畑が広がる。
県東部の伊豆半島は多くの温泉に恵まれている。下田市は日本で一番初めに開港した場所で、ペリー提督が条約を締結した了仙寺まで歩いた道はペリーロードと呼ばれている。温暖な伊豆は春の訪れも早く、２月に河津桜が楽しめる。
伊豆の国市にある韮山反射炉は、明治日本の産業革命遺産の一つとして２０１５年世界遺産に登録された。
伊豆半島の相模湾は金目鯛や伊勢海老、サザエ、駿河湾では深海魚や桜えび、しらすが獲れるほか、浜名湖は養殖の鰻が知られている。

In Sagami Bay on the Izu peninsula, Kinme sea bream and Japanese spiny Lobster, Sazae can catch cherry shrimp, shirasu in Suruga Bay and Lake Hamana is known for farmed eels.
